Rates & Charges

The firm generally charges on a work – time basis. The charges are based on the experience of the particular attorney attending the matter. The basic rate is subject to variation depending on the nature and complexity of the matter. In the beginning of each financial year, in June, we reserve the right to review out rates.

In common with all legal practitioners in Botswana, in all debt collection matters a 10% collection commission is usually charges on all monies collected on your behalf or received by you as a result of any action by us. We try to recover this collection commission together with legal costs from the debtor, but this is not always possible.

As to conveyancing matters, all fees are charged in accordance with the Tariff in place. In addition to our legal costs, the Government induced Value Added Tax on legal services provided. It is our obligation to collect the taxes from Clients.

All accounts are payable with fourteen (14) days of receipt of any invoice, our fee note. All payments received by the Firm are deposited into our trust account. Thereafter all outstanding legal fees and disbursements are debited from the trust account to our business account. In the case of legal fees, a statement of account detailing how fees are constituted will be rendered and forwarded to you simultaneously with any passing of fees.
